It is such a delight today to introduce you to Nicole Terrell, the creator of Fully Expressed, a brand devoted to helping women break free from conditioning, strip away limiting beliefs, and reclaim the truth of who they are and the vastness of the lives they want to create. Through subconscious reprogramming, identity work, and emotional healing, Nicole creates programs and content that support women in living more authentic, liberated lives, rooted in self-trust, expansion, and personal power.
Her most recent creation, Becoming Weightless, is a powerful audio-based experience designed to help women release the internal weight of shame, self-rejection, and survival patterns, so they can feel lighter in every sense of the word. The 12-week hypnosis-based program is designed to help you break free from food struggles, rewire your subconscious beliefs about your body, and step into effortless weight loss—not through restriction, but through alignment.
I am nearly at the end of the program, 35 pounds lighter than I was before I began. I have a calmer and more nourishing relationship with food, movement and my body than I have ever experienced before. As I’ve written before, like most women I’ve struggled with the identity of being a yo-yo dieter, my weight bouncing up and down with every life challenge.
Starting in my early 60s, in my wise elderhood, I’ve had profound breakthroughs in my relationship to my body, achieving a sense of peace and acceptance, and Nicole’s work has been a powerful lever in getting there. As Nicole and I discuss in our conversation, the journey around food and our bodies, especially for women, is about so much more than releasing weight.
The Becoming Weightless approach, through the use of the hypnosis tracks, powerful prompts for journaling, and weekly affirmations, centers on healing childhood messaging about our bodies and relationship to food, rewiring our identity as someone who doesn’t need to struggle with weight, and where choices around food and movement feel easy and pleasurable. Nicole, who has had an abusive past, has also intentionally created a program that is sensitive to those who have experienced sexual trauma. As she says, “When you’ve experienced sexual trauma, the tendency to hold on to extra weight is higher. It’s like a body armor. This journey is firstly about loving your body, bringing curiosity and really listening.”
How hypnosis partners with our subconscious
Listening becomes so much easier when you can move past the limiting beliefs of your conscious mind and partner with your subconscious.
I had never done hypnosis until November 2024 when Nicole created a set of custom hypnosis tracks for me to help break out of a writer’s block and my limiting beliefs around realizing my dream of being a published novelist. After daily listening to the daytime and nighttime tracks, I finally reopened the manuscript I had put aside five months earlier, and began that creative dance once again with renewed confidence. As I wrote in this essay, “Thanks to the partnership with my subconscious through hypnosis, a candle had been lit, a door opened. A marriage of presence and persistence.”
I had a similar experience with Becoming Weightless. Listening to the hypnosis tracks day and night over these past nearly 12 weeks, combined with journaling and the affirmations, I was able to break out of the self-defeating mindset of my conscious mind that told me “Why should this approach be the one that resolves your weight and body image struggles once and for all?”
Interestingly, though, it seems that it has. I did not follow any specific diet. I was eating the way I prefer—whole, plant-based foods—the bright, colorful, crunchy fruits and vegetables that entice and nourish me. I ate just as much of these foods as I wanted and then moved onto the next activity. If I ate a cookie, that was fine, too. No guilt. It was the intuitive eating approach, this time supported by my subconscious mind and a calmer nervous system. My weight loss was also influenced by my low back injury in February, as pain and medication wreaked havoc on my appetite and digestive system. Here again, Nicole’s beautiful tracks helped me, inviting me to trust my body.
Just like the JournalSpeak process that is helping me emerge from chronic back pain by excavating suppressed emotions, I am leaning into my own intuition with a newfound clarity.
Now when I float in the Mediterranean Sea, the weightlessness I feel is more than skin deep. It’s in every fiber of my being and in the body I cherish.
